Midnight, the Talking Cat

Posted by bigceebee on November 22, 2012 at 11:25 AM

I've always been impressed that Midnight, our younger cat, was capable of responding when I asked her questions but was also disappointed because I couldn't prove it to anyone. The fact is, the younf feline is camera shy and refused to cooperate once the camera was running. I finally managed to convince her to do a short clip once she understood it could lead to the betterment of the universe as we know it. So, here it is. Be prepared to be amazed.

Pretty smart cat you got there Claude, but I must confess that I wasn't amazed because I've always known that cats talked. We don't have any pets of our own but usually have a dog or cat or raccoon or squirrel hanging out and begging. My favorite was Kitty Girl who belonged to someone else in our El Paso neighborhood. I often worked outside on the patio and Kitty Girl would come across the stone walls and roofs to drop in on me. She sat on a chair next to me at lunch time sometimes sharing a nibble. She was well behaved so she had the run of the house. If she felt like it she stayed overnight. She cemented our friendship by bringing me birds that she had captured. I'd hear her meowing and fussing at the door and there she'd be waiting for me to ooh and awe over her offering. When the conversation was over she'd carry the bird off to some comfortable place and enjoy the meal. The cat here at the ranch (Comfort Tx) doesn't like me so much. Instead she hangs out with Sugar Britches a small yellow lab.

More people should be aware that cats talk to us and are very social beings!
